Unless the ball pen has run out of ink, please realize that paper can't refuse it. I see so much misinformation/garbage that's written or published on the internet. It's no wonder people are so damned confused. But on the other hand, people also need to be responsible for themselves and their own results.
Are you a follower, because it seems most are. There are so many opinions floating around in the universe, especially in the fitness universe, or maybe it just seems that way because I'm in it. Nevertheless, in my mind the fact remains. How in the hell is an innocent bystander/consumer supposed to navigate through all the noise? For that matter, how in the hell are those of us in the industry who claim that we're worthy of calling ourselves a professional trainer supposed to know what's legit info, and what's BS.
Sometimes you have to rely on your intuition and blind faith, which is hard to do if you don't have blind faith or keen intuition. I have the answer. Okay, maybe not all the answers, but who the hell does? The key is to determine through application, multiplied by time, finding things that work best for you. Ah ha, now we're getting closer to solving our over saturation of info in the fitness universe.
Before you randomly pop off with your opinion, or believe everything you read, here's a better strategy. I call it "try it to see if you like it” strategy. After you try something, and assuming it works, then understand why it worked. For example, if you're taking a supplement, research the active ingredients to see what's being used. Google obviously is an amazing resource to get instant information.
Not to fret, even after you research, you might not know exactly what the ingredients are, or what they do, but you'll be surprised, over time, implementing this strategy will slowly educate you in a way that's beneficial. You'll start honing in on what really works best for you.
Warning!! If you're one of the thousands of trainers out there, make sure you use the “try it to see if you like it” strategy. It will make you a better trainer with a higher level of cred.
